Closers Dominate Early Signings

There were a few high profile signings on the first eligible day of free agent signings.

The first player to sign was SS Christian Guzman, who inked a 1 year @ $1 deal with WinOrLoseHitTheBooze at 8:42 PM. Magglio Ordonez signed shortly thereafter, agreeing to a 1 year $3 deal with the Black Sox. Next up were closers Brian Fuentes, Bobby Jenks and Trevor Hoffman, signing respective 1 year deals with the YBombers, The Screwballs and WinOrLoseHitTheBooze.

There were many other signings, but the biggest splash was made by the YBombers who added some much needed outfield talent and an elite albeit aging closer. The team was able to reel in CF Shane Victorino and CF Torii Hunter on similar 2 year deals. The Sandman, Mariano Rivera, then cashed in signing a 2 year deal with the YBombers worth $18 a season.
