Contracts are "rolled back" after the draft. ie 1 year contracts expire, 2 year contracts become 1 year contracts etc.

Deadline for managers to re-sign upcoming free agents to prevent them from being exposed to restricted free agency, which will occur from Sept 1st - September 10th.
September 1st, 2011 @ 12:01 AM - September 10th, 2011 @ 11:59 PM - Restricted Free Agency
Managers may submit bids to restricted free agents during this two 10-day period.
September 20th, 2011 - Deadline To Match Offers To Restricted Free Agents @ 11:59 PM
Deadline for managers have the right to match all offers to their restricted free agents until midnight on September 20th.
September 28th, 2011 - Keeper Signings Due by 11:59 PM
Deadline for managers to sign draftees and acquired players, and to re-sign impending free agents
